Pandari Bai was a South-Indian actress. She was the first actress in Kannada film industry. Pandari Bai did movies in Kannada and Tamil. She was born as Geetha on 18 September 1928 in Bhatkal, Karnataka. She acted in approximately 1000 films of Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. Pandari Bai was born in a family which was full of talent and she had inherited the same.
Her father, Ranga Rao was a Harikatha proponent and a stage actor, and Pandari’s sister is Mynavathi was also a Kannada actress. Pandari did many stage shows and theatre before her debut in the film industry in 1943. She gave many Harikatha performances at the age of 10 years, which her father started teaching at an early age.
Pandari made her film debut with Kannada movie Bedara Kannappa along with Rajkumar. She had a great life and a career of about half a century and died at the age of 74 in Chennai on 29 January 2003 and in her lifetime, she had the privilege of portraying a young girl in love and a doting mother in her acting career.
