In his long career, he played popular roles in more than 220 films. Apart from Kannada He has also acted in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi movies. The existence of three decades in Kannada cinema was itself an indication of his strong ability. There is nothing like a good film or a bad film but there is a good time or bad time Vishnuvardhan kept on saying from the beginning of his career.

He was married to Kannada actress Bharathi on 27 February 1975. He had 2 adopted daughters, Keerthi and Chandana. Vishnuvardhan started an organization called Sneha Loka to promote harmony and to help during calamities like floods. He was also known for his personal involvement in many charitable causes.  Vishnuvardhan died of a massive Heart attack on 30 December 2009 in Mysore and was later cremated at Abhinay Studio with full state honors.

Devaraj is a Kannada actor who works in theatre and film industry. He has worked in Tamil and Telugu film industries as well during his career spanning more than 25 years. He was born on 20th September 1960, in Bangalore. He worked in HMT for 9 years before he started his Sandalwood journey.His initial days were with B Jayashree’s theatre group Spandana and later with famed Sanket, Shankar Nag’s group till he entered world of cinema. His first on screen appearance was in Koogu by Shankar Nag. His first release was 27 Mavalli in 1986, where he played a villain and got appreciated for his performance. He continued doing many villain roles as well as police roles, getting almost branded as ‘policeman’. His police role movies include Lockup Death, Golibaar, Circle Inspector and many more. His first lead role was in the film Aavesha which released in 1990. This film also had Shankar Nag with Devaraj. He is one of the few actors in Kannada industry to don various roles like villain, policeman, action hero and many.He is fondly referred Dynamic Hero in the industry. He has won many awards during his long career and the highest one being the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor for his portrayal as the feared bandit Veerappan in the 1991 film Veerappan. His non Kannada movies include Naan Kadavul, Malaikottai in Tamil and Yagnam in Telugu.He is married to actress Chandralekha and the couple has two sons Prajwal and Pranaam. Prajwal Devaraj is one of the leading heroes in growing Sandalwood industry today.
