When he was young, creative art, writing, and editing fascinated him. After finishing his education, he joined Adarsha Film Institute and opted for the editing course, where he worked as a spot editor. In the meantime, he also worked as a technician with well-renowned directors such as Naresh Kumar and A Haresh. Before becoming a director, Vinay freelanced as a VFX artist for Kannada movies from 2013 to 2016.

Striving tirelessly for five years and working day and night to polish his skills, he finally landed on one of his big projects, Nanna Prakara, in 2019, where he worked as a director in this film.
