Suryakantha Honnalli

Suryakantha Honnalli is a Kannada Cinematographer from Bengaluru, Karnataka. He completed a diploma in cinematography, photography, videography, lighting, and filmmaking from the Film and Television Institute in Bangalore. He has been working as a freelancer in the cinematography field since 2000 and has over 23 years of experience. He has worked on feature films, television serials, and documentaries. He is well-versed in the filmmaking process and post-production work.

Honnalli has worked with several advanced cameras as a cinematographer, like the Canon-5D series RED, Sony EX3 HD series, Arriflex 435 series, and Arriflex 35 III. He has traveled abroad for his work to many countries like Germany, Austria, Italy, Dubai, and Switzerland. He has worked in a Malayalam feature film called Agni Nakshatram. He has also worked on more than 21 Kannada films, which include Mysore Mallige, Tallana, Jai Hind, Atmasakshi, Venki, Banni, Ankusha, Arasu, Rajeev, Nayi Neralu, Datta, Vishnusena, Siddu, Apthamithra. Pravaha Artha, Alemari, Deviri, Beru, Hasina, Gaja. Many of these films are his independent work.

His television projects are Panjarada Gili Story Coming Soon. >> Read More... (2012), a serial for Kasturi Channel, and Danger (2006), a telefilm for Zee TV Kannada. He made a short film as a project for his diploma in 1999. He has also made several documentary films like Volvo, Jungle Lodges and Resorts, BMTC & Manipal Hospital. He worked as an associate in many television projects, such as Griha Bhanga, Sakshi, Minchina Balli, Saval, Runi Appa Maga, and Ankura.

Honnalli has received several awards for his contribution as a cinematographer. He won the 2nd prize in Bangalore International Film Festival and two state awards. His film was also recorded in the Limca Book of Records. His work has been widely recognized and appreciated in the Kannada and Malayalam film industries.
