Nina Mahesh is a Los Angeles-based Indian American TV writer, director, and screenwriter who divides her time between New York City, Detroit, and Michigan. She graduated from Columbia University with a master of fine arts in film, and there she was given the Jeff Unger/eMinutes Launch Award for a distinguished graduate. Aleeya, a short film by Mahesh that depicts the daily struggles of an Indian trans woman, bagged The Leone Family Grant. Nina Mahesh graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA and received her MBA from Cornell University. The films E-Preeti (2018), Aleeya (2021), and Culture Selection (2008) are some of her works.
