Shankar Ashwath

Shankar Aswath was born in 1958 in Mysore, Karnataka. He did his schooling at Sarada Vilas high school, Mysore. In 1980, he attended JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore. His father, K. S. However, Ashwath got evicted from the house on the Fifth week. Shankar Aswath’s son, Skanda R Ashwath, is a National-level swimmer and works as a swimming coach at the University of Mysore. He followed in his father’s footsteps and started his career in acting. He has acted in various Kannada films like ‘Nirbandha’ (1996), ‘Nandhi’ (2002), ‘Raaj the Showman’ (2009), and ‘RangiTaranga’ 2015. He worked for nearly 25 years in South Indian films. He then started operating as a cab driver in Uber (a private cab-operating firm) in Bengaluru. According to him, because of his age and the generation gap within the movie industry, he has obtained good roles. He has won the hearts of millions with his powerful acting skills.

Shankar is usually vocal about his love for his late father and still believes he lives in his heart. The actor had acted in more than 300 films throughout his five-decade-long career within the Kannada movie industry. He was fondly called Chamayya Meshtru by fans. In the recent episode of the ongoing Bigg Boss Kannada season 8, Raghu requested Shankar to enact an on-screen character by his late father.
