Rami Kahlon

Rami Kahlon is an Indian-origin professional actor, writer, and director based in Vancouver, Canada. She holds a degree in Bachelor of Psychology from the University of British Columbia. As an actor, she is represented by Characters Talent Agency and also works as a filmmaker at an independent Production company called ‘Rani Pictures.’ Besides acting and writing, Rami is highly skilled in Acting, Dancing, Hosting, and Voice Acting.

Rami started her career as a filmmaker with the Summer Visions Film Institution. She worked closely with Pacific Cinémathèque, which helped to enhance her writing and directing skills. As an actor, she has worked in several international TV shows and films. Her film acting credits include lead and guest star roles on Walt Disney Pictures, MTV, and The CW. She is particularly known for her role in the TV shows called ‘Supernatural’ (2016), ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ (2014), and ‘Almost Human’ (2014).

She has also worked in popular movies, such as Tom and Grant (2018), The Dorm (2014), Mr. Miracle (2014), etc. She has also shown her talent in the field of direction. Her debut work as a producer and director was a short film ‘Odd Girl’ which was released in 2019. It was a story about a high school student, Dylan, who gets worried when his popular down-to-earth best friend starts getting followed incessantly by the odd girl out. As a theatre artist, she originated the role of Laura in the new play “Small and Almost Honest.”

Rami’s work has been recognized internationally, and she has received various awards for her Debut film ‘Odd Girl.’ The movie received awards for Best Screenplay at the Oscar-qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival and the Southampton International Film Festival in 2020. In the same year, the film also won the Tabloid Witch Award and Best Thriller Award at the Die Laughing Film Festival. Rami has always been passionate about creating independent Canadian content and looks forward to contributing to more home-grown productions. Her recent works include ‘Dil Rakh’ (Sep 2023), The Wedding Contest (Aug 2023), and ‘Stolen Memories’ (Aug 2023).
