He was born in Mumbai and raised up in Bahrain, and North Carolina as well. He completed his schooling at Kodaikanal International School, a famous American boarding school. Over time, his theater skills have proved to him that he can be an excellent narrator as well. Produced by the group The British Complicit, the play was directed by Simon McBurney. Firdous portrayed the role of Al Cooper.

The play received numerous awards like the Lawrence Oliver Award, Critics Circle Award for Best Play of the Year 2007, and The Evening Standard Award. Firdous married Hayley Mills. They live in New York and London.
