Raghuvir Sahay is a Hindi writer and poet. He was a pioneer in the modern literary scene of India. He was born on 9th December 1929 in Lucknow. He was married to Bimleshwari Sahay. He wrote many short stories and essays. He was known for his social commentary and showed support for secularism. He critiqued literature and was a renowned journalist. He was the chief editor of the weekly social journal and Hindi publication "Dinmaan" from 1969 to 1982. His work "Log Bhool Gaye Hain" (1982) which translates as "The People Have Forgotten", led him to win the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1984. He was also the chair of the Press Council of India during the year of his death as he passed away on 3rd December 1990 at the age of 61.
