Pooja Chopra is an acclaimed Indian beauty queen turned actress. She was born on May 3, 1986 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She was raised by her mother, Neera Chopra who is a single parent and her grandmother. She is now residing at Kubera Park in Pune, Maharashtra.

She was crowned as Femina Miss India in February 2009. Pooja also received the Miss Perfect 10, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Catwalk, Talwarkars Best Body and the Nakshatra Miss Sparkling Beauty awards and this result to her entry in the top 10 finalists of the pageant. She also won the Pantaloons Femina Miss India World in April 2009. She accidentally sprained her ankle a week before the Miss World finals in December 2009 and the doctor advised her to take a 3-weeks complete rest, but Pooja insisted to attend to the competition. Julia Morley, the Chair of the Miss World Organization proposed that she should drop the dance round, so she only donned few steps before she was allowed to stop. She was debuted as a film actress in the epic film, Ponnar Shankar, from where she bagged the role of Princess Muthaayi, the love interest of Shankar (played by Prashanth).
