Born on March 23, 1976, Smriti Irani is a well known personality of the television industry. She now is a popular face in political field too. They were three sisters with Smriti being the eldest one. She was the sports skipper right from her childhood school days. She doesn't belong to a family with a lot of educational background yet she managed to become a successful actress and now a minister too. 
In the year 2001, Smriti chose to make adolescence companion her spouse and got hitched to Zubin Irani. She has been blessed with two children, a son and a daughter. Her son's name is Zohr and daughter's name is Zoish. She still is famous with the name of her character “ Tulsi”. She made her television debut with the Star Plus show “ Aatish”. Since, then she showed up in numerous daily soaps some of them being Kuch Dil Se, Hum Hain Kal Aaj Aur Kal, Ramayan, etc. Recently, she was being approached for a role by director Umesh Shukla. However, she is all set to make her Bollywood debut with a film opposite Rishi Kapoor and Abhishek Bachan.

In the year, 2014 she got a ticket for Bhatiya Janta Party to contest elections from the Amethi seat. She contested the election against Rahul Gandhi.

Smita Singh is an Indian television actress who has appeared in several widely acclaimed television soaps. She has been associated with some very popular shows like “Kkusum”(2001), “Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki”(2005) and the most popular of all “Bhagyavidhaata”(2009) wherein she portrayed the role of leading vamp character Punpunwali. The show addressed the issue of "Pakadua Phaadi" prevalent in some regions of Bihar. Eligible boys from decent families are kidnapped by girls' relatives and made to wed at gun point. Smita plays the role of a mean sister-in-law of the protagonist in the show Bindiya, a middle class girl who is very innocent and suffers neglect and ill-treatment in the family after marriage. The show is based on Bindiya’s struggle to sustain her foothold in the household amongst all the pranks played by her sister-in-law, Smita Singh. The show became an instant hit and was liked immensely by the viewers. Another popular show to her credit was “Hitler Didi” (2011). Smita loves playing negative roles, but wants to shift her focus from typical Saas Bahu sagas to realistic content which she believes is a better way to connect with audiences. Smita took a break from her career in 2008 when she was diagnosed with skin cancer, but then was back with a bang post recovery. Smita is very fond of writing and is really passionate about it and wants to start writing very soon. She finds the typical Saas Bahu sagas very boring as she believes that the roles are typical stereotyped and involves the same old story of wearing heavy sarees, jewellery and overdoing of makeup which she feels are unable to connect with the audience. She has an effective way of acting which enables her to emote the feeling of the character she’s playing in a very effective way.
