Cezanne Khan was born in Mumbai on 28 December 1977. He was born in a family of artists and his father is Ustad Rais Khan, a well-known sitar player in Pakistan, and his brother is Suhail Khan, who is a composer, singer and a sitar player. It is interesting to mention that Cezanne Khan is named after the famous French painter Paul Cezanne. Cezanne Khan started his acting career in 1997, while he was still in college. His first acting role was in a movie which was never released, and for this role Cezanne didn't enroll NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies). Not much later he was offered a role in the TV serial Hasratein, which he accepted, and his acting career continued with his roles in Pal Chhin, Kalirein and Dushman. In 2001 he started his most significant acting engagement as Anurag Basu in the show Kasautii Zindagii Kay. This serial has skyrocketed his popularity. This show was so popular with the TV audience that soon people started calling him as the character he played, Anurag Basu. Cezanne didn't oppose that, in fact he acknowledged that this character had contributed the most to his acting career and popularity. He acted in several other TV shows, such as Hum do Hain Na, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, Seeta Aur Geeta and several TV shows aired in Pakistan. Cezanne was offered several roles in movies as well, but he rejected them, stating that he will only accept to act if he was offered a lead role in the movie. Cezanne was involved in several other acting projects such as commercials, music videos and special appearances in few TV shows. During his acting career he was nominated by Indian Telly Awards and Star Parivaar Awards for 6 acting rewards and is a winner of 7 acting awards in several different categories.
