Siddhartha Basu is an Indian television quiz show host, producer & director, who is best known for his quiz shows. Due to his contribution to the Indian quiz shows, he is widely regarded as the father of the Indian quiz shows. He is also the managing director of the Big Synergy Media Ltd., established in 1988 as Synergy Media Ltd. His firm has produced shows such as ‘

He was associated with the theater during his college days back in 1970’s. After graduating from St. Stephens College, Delhi, he worked in theater alongside theater personalities such as ‘’. He started his career as a director of the documentaries for Doordarshan. He also worked as a voice artist & host for some of the most popular programs of the DD such as ‘Yuva Vaani’, which actually paved his way into the entertainment industry. Back in 1980’s, he directed and hosted the famous DD quiz show ‘Quiz Time’, which was a popular show of that time, attracting a majority of children all over the country.
His show became a huge success and he never looked back after that. He went on to produce shows such as KBC & DKD, which have been widely regarded as the most successful shows of all times in the history of the Hindi entertainment industry. ’ (2013). He is married to ‘Anita Kaul Basu’ and is a father of two children.
