Born on July 25, 1976, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Sangita Madhavan Nair is an Indian performing artist, who has worked in Malayalam and Tamil movie industries in the 1990s era. She is the daughter of Padma and Madhavan Nair. Her family moved to Chennai for her dad's business and got settled there. Sangita finished her primary schooling from Sri Gujarati Vid Matriculation School in Chennai. She has three siblings Nitheesh, Raji, and Mallika. Nitheesh, her brother, depicted a supporting part in a movie named Punniyavathiher, which never released. Sangita debuted as a child actress with Motion Pictures in a movie named Snehikkan Oru Pennu in the film industry in the late 70's.

At that point she showed up in a progression of Malayalam motion pictures like Nee Allenkil Njan by Vijayakrishnan, Manju by M. T. Vasudevan Nair, Ennennum Kannettante by Fazil, Vartha by IV Sasi and so forth in tyke artist part. In mid-1990's, she shifted to supporting actor roles and high school parts. She showed up in a small part as Kamal Hassan's little girl at the end of the widely praised film, Mahanadi. Sangita acted as the main character in Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava, a Malayalam blockbuster, directed by Rajasenan in 1995. The same year, Sangita showed up as the lead part in Seethanam as Dana Lakshmi and Ellame En Rasathan as Rajani in two Tamil motion pictures. Sangita got married to Saravanan cinematographer, and she enjoyed the reprieve from the business and later helped her better half in his presentation directorial project Silambattam.

Sangita is best known for depicting the lead character as a Shyamala in Malayalam film Chinthavishtayaaya Shyamala by Srinivasan in 1997. It was the second endeavor of Srinivasan as an executive. This motion picture won praise by critics, many state and National honors and is viewed as a classic of mid 90's. Sangita turned into an easily recognized name in Kerala homes through this motion picture. She won 'Most Popular Role' grant and Best Actress by Kerala State Film Award for this motion picture. Sangita is famous in Tamil films as well, for her breakthrough execution in movie Poove Unakkaga opposite Vijay in 1996.
