Kannan Iyer is a versatile Indian actor, writer, and director. His began his career in the film industry in 1994 as an assistant to Shekar Kapur for the biographical crime film, Bandit Queen. Seema Biswas, Nirmal Pandey, and Rajesh Vivek played the lead roles and the movie released on 30 June, 1995. It won the Filmfare Award for the Best Film - Critics in 1995. In 1996, Seema Biswas won the Silver Lotus Award from the National Film Awards, India. Shekar Kapur won the Filmfare for Best Director for this movie in the year 1997.
