In an interview Riya called herself “Childish and bubbly” but this is an aspect which is never revealed on stage. She did her schooling from ‘Bunts Sangha's S.M. Shetty High School and Junior College’. In-spite of her young age she has taken up extremely complicated and challenging roles that need an immense level of maturity which is why even veteran actors are not able to do justice to them.
She started her career with a ‘Swastik Pictures’ T.V. show on ‘Sahara One’ titled ‘
Mata Ki Chowki
’. The show was loved by the audiences through-out the country though she had a supporting role, she was noticed for her lively and enchanting performance.
Riya has always had a keen interest in theater, and has been a dedicated and devoted theater artist for more than 4 years.
This explains the reason why she was able to perform the role of Gandhari in Siddharth Tewary’s Mahabharat(2013) with such immaculate grace and beauty. The show has already become the ‘most viewed mythological show’ across the country and has won many awards for the same. Star T.V has invested almost 120 crore in it.
Riya is now looking to do other roles and give her image a bit more diversity.
