Laila Khan

Laila Khan is a Bollywood film actress, known for her portrayal as the heroine in Rajesh Khanna-starrer film, Wafaa: A Deadly Love Story (2008). She was born in Pakistan as Reshma Patel. Allegedly, she was married to Munir Khan, a member of the Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami in Pakistan. In 2011, Laila Khan, together with her family, was said to be shot dead in Maharashtra. On January 30, 2011, Khan, together with her mother (Shelina), sister (Hashmina), twin siblings (Zara and Imran), and her cousin (Reshma) drove out of the city to go to their holiday home in Igatpuri.

On February 9 of the same year, her mother spoke to her sister and stated that Laila was in Chandigarh together with Shelina’s 3rd husband, Pervez Iqbal Tak. In July 2012, Mr. Patel appealed to the Bombay High Court as he searched transfer from the crime branch to the CBI for Laila’s murder case.

Allegedly, the crime branch was not able to probe the case immediately. The Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested Parvez Iqbal Tak due to another case. However, he admitted that Laila and her family were already shot dead in Maharashtra in 2011.

But the next day, he withdrew his statement and claimed that the family is still alive. The Mumbai Police crime branch brought him back to Mumbai and he was later sent to the police custody. He added that the bodies were found at the bottom of a 6-feet deep fit, covered with mattresses, pillows, and stones.

The pit was also covered with mud. The police also recovered the murder weapons including two knives and iron rods. The reason for the killing was believed to be due to money, property, jealousy, and the family’s plan to move to Dubai. Tak got upset thinking that he would be left behind because he doesn’t have a passport, while Asif held a power of attorney for the properties of Shelina.
