Rajiv Mehra is an Indian writer, director and producer; he works in the Hindi film and television industry. Umesh Mehra, his brother, is also a director and producer. Rajiv is known for making comedy-drama serials and movies. He has made a prominent place in the industry right from his start. Rajiv started his career with directing the film ‘Ek Jaan Hai Hum’ released in 1983. Then further, he directed movies like ‘Pyar ke Do Pal,' ‘Ramjaane,' ‘Chamatkar’ and a few more. Rajiv has written the screenplay of Chamatkar.

Rajiv’s first directorial TV series is ‘Zabaan Sambhal Ke’ (1993-1997). Other TV series he directed are ‘ Office Office’, ‘ Shararat’ and ‘ Agadam Bagdam Tigdam’. He has been the writer of Shararat. Rajiv’s TV series ‘Office Office’ (2000) has honored with the Best Serial Award from ITA Award for Best Serial- Comedy in 2002. Rajiv has won the ITA Award for Best Director in 4 consecutive years (2001-04) for ‘Office Office’.

In 2006 and 2007 he again won the Award for Best Director for his serial ‘ Naya Office Office’. In 2008, he was nominated for Star Guild Award for Best Director-Fiction Award 'Office Office.' Rajiv is producer of TV series ‘Jeanie Aur Juju’ (2012) and also of his 2011 film ‘Chala Mussadi- Office Office’. Rajiv has been executive producer of film like ‘Ashanti’ (1982) and ‘Alibaba aur 40 Chor’ (1979).

Rajesh Babbar, whose birth name is Rajesh Amarlal Babbar, stepped into Bollywood with the dream of becoming a Director. He started out as an Associate to many Directors. In the year 2000, he got his first break as an Associate Director, in the film Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, under Director Satish Kaushik. He has been his associate in many other films. The flick has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor in the lead. He also worked with Anil Kapoor in the film Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain. Rajesh Babbar debuted through a Bhojpuri film. He directed the Bhojpuri Movie Tohar Kiriya, in the year 2007. The movie had Ravi Kissen and Kunal Singh in the lead, and the music is by the duo Satish-Ajay. Tohar Kiriya means I swear by you, and the flick was produced by Deepak and Harish Punjabi. Rajesh Babbar after graduating joined Punjab University to study Indian Theatre. In the year 1994, Rajesh came down to Mumbai to try his luck in Bollywood. He grabbed any opportunity that came his way and learned everything he can in the sets of several films. Director Satish Kaushik of Mr. India fame noticed Babbar’s talent and took him as his associate. That is how his first step in Bollywood, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai happened. He has told that Cinema is more powerful and effectual than Television soaps, because people will never forget a movie, but, on the other hand, serials can be easily forgotten. He has been the ship’s captain for several serials like Sabki Laadli Bebo, Meet Mila De Rabba, Parivaar, Maayka, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke and so on. Rajesh is always known for taking the road less taken. He recently guided the members of an acting workshop, under three different categories. It was a fifteen-day class, which also had Sudhir Pande, Mahesh Vashisht, and a few more prominent names among the faculty members.

Rajiv Rai is a multifaceted legend in the field of Hindi Cinema. He was born in the year 1955, in Mumbai. He has been a Writer, Editor and a Director in several number of films. Rajiv was born to Gulshan Rai, a great Film Producer in the late nineties. He has predominantly produced the films of the popular Yash Raj Chopra and the films of his son. Rajiv first entered into Bollywood, in the year 1985 by directing a flick, titled Yudh. The film had Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff in the lead and was produced and distributed by Gulshan Rai’s company, Trimurti Films. He then started multitasking by writing and directing movies. He has given several Bollywood blockbusters such as Tridev (1989), Vishwatma (1992), Gupt (1997), Mohr (1994), Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat (2001) and so many other hit movies. Music played a major role in the success of the Films made by Rajiv Rai. All the songs in his movies were mostly composed by the duos Kalyanji-Anandji and by Viju Shah. The songs Tirchi Topi Wale and Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast were chartbusters. Rajiv Rai got married to Tridev movie fame actress, Sonam, in the year 1994. The couple has a son, Gourav Rai and were settled in Mumbai. In the year 1997, a hitman, working under the notorious don Abu Salem, tried to murder Rajiv. This incident made Rajiv and his family flee to the United Kingdom. Rajiv was not seen in Bollywood for the next four years. He made a comeback in the year 2001, by directing the movie Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat. Rajiv has taken a diversion from his usual movie genre in this film. He had attempted to make a romantic film, but the movie was a flop. Next he again made an action movie, Asambhav (2004), which also did not do well in box office. After that movie, Rajiv was never again seen in Bollywood. His son is now studying in South Mumbai College.
