Allen swift (1924-2010) used to be a well-known American voice cartoon during his time. His original name was Iris Stadlen, but for his profession, he opted his name, “ Allen Swift”. His name is inspired by radio comedian Fred Allen and 18th-century satirist Jonathan Swift. After completing his study, he joined the army during the phase of the 2nd world war. Then he started his journey in acting. During the initial time, he worked as a host. He hosted shows like The Popeye Shows, Captain Allen, etc. Mostly he gave his voices for the NBC Howdy Doody Show.
Later he became the writer for Howdy Doody because of the sudden demise of this show’s writer. He worked more than a year for this show. But properly he got name and fame for voicing cartoon characters Simon Bar Sinister and Riff-Raff on the Underdog cartoon show. He wrote characters of many plays like role of Tom, Jerry in Tom and Jerry cartoon. In 2010, we lost a very versatile actor, but his contribution to the cartoon industry is still remembered.
