Sarah Wayne Callies is a well-known American actress. She was born in La Grange, Illinois, in the United States of America, on June 1st, 1977. Valerie Wayne and David E. Wayne are her parents. When Callies was a year old, she and her family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. She went to Punahou School. Callies attended Dartmouth College in Hanover after graduating from high school. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre, a senior fellowship in Native Theology, and a minor in Women's Studies. While obtaining her degree, Callies maintained her love for theatre. She finished her studies at the National Theatre Conservatory and received a Master of Fine Arts degree (2002). On July 21, 2002, Callies married Josh Winterhalt. In 2003, Callies relocated to New York and landed her first television job as Kate O'Malley on the short-lived CBS sitcom Queens Supreme. In 2007, they were blessed with a daughter, and later, in 2013, they adopted a son.
Her first starring role was on The WB's Tarzan as Detective Jane Porter. "Faces in the Crowd,” "The Other Side of the Door,” "Black Gold,” "Pay the Ghost,” "Black November,” "Bittersweet,” and other films have included her. Callies has also acted in “Whisper" and "The Celestine Prophecy” by Universal Pictures. She has been in several television episodes, including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” "Prison Break: The Final Break,” "The Secret Service,” "The Walking Dead,” "The Long Road Home,” "Council of Dads,” and others, for which she has received some nominations and awards. In 2012, she won a Satellite Award for Best Cast – Television Series for her role in The Walking Dead.
