She is an American stage actress, best known for her character named ‘Edith Bunker’ in the 1970’s situational comedy ‘All in the Family’. For thirty long years, her husband had directed ‘Totem Pole Playhouse’ in Pennsylvania, and she used to perform regularly on those stages. Her brother named Jack Stapleton was also a stage actor. Betty Jane Watson, a popular actress, is her cousin. She was seen in several musical hits like ‘Bells Are Ringing,’ ‘Funny Girls,’ etc. In the year 1963, she guest appeared as ‘Rosa Criley’ in an episode of the series ‘The Eleventh Hour’.
