A Production Assistant
A Production Assistant is a person who is responsible for preparation of the set by ensuring that there is props, lights, and necessary equipment. This work also includes assisting the costume designers, cameramen, directors and other crew members when in need.
They also have an administrative duty of maintaining & printing paperwork and distribute the same. These paperwork refers to documents such as scripts, call sheets etc.
They are held responsible for all what happens in the set or shooting spot. A production need not necessarily go and fix lights or provide props but he has to make sure that all of it is in proper place so that the filming process is not delayed. He is also expected to escort the actors or artists on set and to have a team spirit for he is to work with a lot of other people. A production assistant must be able to fix problems in the absence of senior members of the crew.
