Zoey started her acting classes at the age of five. She had her schooling from Oakwood School, Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, and the Young Actors Space.

She learned Theatre in Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. She also went to the Los Angeles Museum of Art. Zoey is also an activist who supports Planned Parenthood. She also performed for a few charity events to raise funds for Alzheimer's Associations with her mother, Lea Thompson, and her sister Madelyn Deutch. Her family also supports a few orphanages in Baja, Mexico. Zoey was a part of the prestigious Glamour's The Hollywood's Next Big Things in the year 2013.
