Chiaki Kuriyama

Chiaki Kuriyama is an actress, model, and singer, from Japan. Chiaki is renowned for her portrayals of Gogo Yubari in Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Takako Chigusa in "Battle Royale." Kuriyama was born in the city of Tsuchiura in Ibaraki. At a time when the Japanese child artist industry was flourishing, Chiaki pocketed various assignments as a child such as featuring in magazines, photographed by the famous artist, Kishin Shinoyama. Kuriyama also made it to the covers of the Pichi Lemon and Nicola. Kuriyama's role in the horror films, "Ju-on" and Shikoku, presented her with an appraisal from the critics, as well as the audiences. In the year 2000, Kuriyama played Takako Chigusa in Battle Royale.

The following year marked Kuriyama's debut in Hollywood with Kill Bill: Volume 1, in which she portrayed the bodyguard of Lucy Liu's character. She was presented with an MTV Movie Award and nominated for a Saturn Award. Consequently, she also featured in Azumi 2: Death or Love, Yokai, Mail, Into the Sun, Scrap Heaven, Daisenso, and Kamogawa Horumo.
