Anna Friel

Anna Friel or Anna Louise Friel is an English actress. Born on the 12th of July 1976 (Age 40), Anna is the only daughter and child of her parents. She was born in Rochdale, Lancashire in England, she is of Irish descent. She has played over 50 roles in movies, TV shows, documentaries and what not.

She started her acting career by appearing in quite some of British Television shows when she was just 13 years old. She has received prestigious awards such as The Royal Television Society Award, National Television Award, Drama Desk Award, and The Royal Television Society Award, etc over the years.

She has to her name an honorary degree given to her by the University of Bolton. In the year 1998, Friel debuted in a movie called ‘Land Girls.’ Since then she has been part of many movies and American TV shows like ‘Pushing Daisies’, and for her performance in it, got nominated for a Golden Globe Award back in 2008. Anna Friel is the daughter of Julie Friel (A special needs teacher) and Desmond Friel (A French teacher and the owner of a web designing company). Her Brother Michael, a physician, also did television advertisement work for Hovis (an English company that produces flour and bread). She is a trained actress and has obtained her acting lessons from Oldham Theatre Workshop. At the age of 13, she was first hired as a professional actress to play the role of Michael Palin’s daughter in G.B.H – a British television drama.
