Cheryl Boone Isaacs is an American public relations executive and film marketer. She has been a representative of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) as the Public Relations Branch. Academy of Motion is known for its Academy Awards in Oscars. She became the 35th president of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She was the first African-American and the third woman to hold the position. She was born in Massachusetts. Her father Ashley Boone was a postal worker and her mother was a housewife. She belonged to a middle-class family. She went to Springfield College. Her family later migrated to Sixteen Acres. They were four siblings, and she was the youngest of the four. She graduated from Springfield Central High School, in 1967. In 1971, she took a degree in political science from Whittier College. After her college, she began her career as a flight attendant in Pan Am which was out of San Francisco. She promoted movies like Once Upon a Time in America and The Right Stuf. In 1984, she became the worldwide publicity director for Paramount Pictures. She was there in the position till 1997. In the company, she had the chance of working with Buffy Shutt, Sherry Lansing, Lucie Salhany, and Deborah Rosen. In 1997, she became a part of Theatrical Marketing for New Line Cinema as the President. Movies like The Wedding Singer, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Boogie Nights were promoted by her. She was the first black women to be a part of the company at such high position. She started her company named CBI Enterprises. She had been a member of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and had aimed at removing the restriction on the number of people allocated in the Academy. The academy focused on improving the society irrespective of caste, gender, nationality, age. She got married to Stanley Isaacs, who is a director, writer and film producer. The couple has a son named Cooper Boone Isaacs.
