Dallas Clayton is a very popular figure among children. He is an American. He is an illustrator and an author as well. One of his most popular work is the Awesome Book series. At the beginning of his career, Clayton used to write short stories for children. He used to publish them on his own. Instead of selling them, he used to distribute his stories among the people present in various art galleries, music events and corners of the streets. His first short-story was named Zines. In 2009, Dallas set up the Awesome World Foundation, which is a non-profit organisation.

He founded it with the aim of spreading education among the children of the world through travelling across the globe, reading books to the children and even take positive measures to promote literacy among them. This foundation has till now removed illiteracy from many areas around the world, have distributed a number of books to promote education, and took several other steps to fulfill their aim. In 2003, when his son was born, Dallas wrote his most popular book ‘An Awesome Book’. It was a book of sixty-four pages and consisted of graphic images. The book inspired children to dream big in their lives.

Initially, he was rejected by many famous publishing companies and so he decided that he should publish it by himself. He used internet where he distributed the book free of cost and used many other unconventional methods of distributing and finally ended up selling fifty thousand copies of the book. An art magazine named ‘We Love You So’ hired Dallas as their editor-in-chief in the year 2009. The director of the magazine was Spike Jonze who had a similar aim in life like Dallas. In 2010 Dallas launched a sequel of his famous book ‘An Awesome Book’ and it was named as ‘An Awesome Book of Thanks’.

He took the help of AmazonEncore which was Amazon’s official distributing website and again posted it for free. This time the book taught the children how to be grateful and thankful to a person. He also released the number of copies of a collection of children’s poetry which was named ‘Make Magic! Do Good!’ in the year 2012. He even released a book which was meant for the adults but in the children’s way. The book was called ‘It’s Never Too Late’ in 2013, with the help of P. Putnam’s Sons. ‘A is for Awesome’ and ‘Lily the Unicorn’ are his latest releases. Both were released in the year 2014.
