Kamalika Guha Thakurta

Kamalika Guha Thakurata is famous for her role as a “Gayatri Chachi” in Ekta Kapoor’s show “Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”. She is basically from Kolkata (City of Joy), there only she indulged herself in dancing and theatre. She also worked as a copy writer for an advertising agency where she happened to meet her future husband for the first time Mr. Ranjish Lall.

She has also worked in Kashti, Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat, Kamal, Manzilen and Babuji.

After completing the serial “Mujhe Chaand Chahiye”, she tied knot with Ranjish Lall and got settled in Mumbai. Due to her pregnancy, she had to say good bye to the television and after few months she delivered a baby girl named Khushi. After few years, she gave birth to the second girl child named Reet.

She is one of the brilliant actresses who love creativity that can be seen in her house interiors. She is very much dedicated towards her professional as well as personal life and maintained a proper balance between both.

Kamalika’s maternal aunt (Sati Devi’s sister) was married to the great Filmmaker Satyajit Ray. 

Kamalika was born in Kolkata but spent her childhood in many places. Her education was carried out in many places, Shanti Niketan being one of them. She went to Loreto followed by Gokhale School and also the Sacred Heart School in Lahore. Kamalika also studied under her mother at the Uday Shankar Cultural Centre in Almora during its formative years. She is professionally trained in music and theater. She began her career as a playback singer back in 1958 for the Bengali movie Lukochori.
