He produces music in the genre of Bangla Rock. Ray quit his ideal job as a doctor to pursue a career in music before starting the band Cactus, of which he is the frontman. The band introduced Bengali rock bands as a new genre to the music industry. Songs like “Holud Paakhi” are now well-known. In addition, Ray performed as a soloist in numerous Bengali movies, hosted quiz shows as a quiz master, and even appeared in a musical game show.
