He produces music in the genre of Bangla Rock. Ray quit his ideal job as a doctor to pursue a career in music before starting the band Cactus, of which he is the frontman. The band introduced Bengali rock bands as a new genre to the music industry. Songs like “Holud Paakhi” are now well-known. In addition, Ray performed as a soloist in numerous Bengali movies, hosted quiz shows as a quiz master, and even appeared in a musical game show. He has composed, written lyrics, and sang for his band ever since. He and his band began working on songs fir Nil Nirjane in 2003, when they made their Tollywood debut.
