Zahir Raihan is a Novelist from Bangladesh. He is also known as Mohammad Zahirullah. He is well known for Stop Genocide, He was also a writer and filmmaker, and some of his films are Kacher deyal, Sangam, bahana, Bahula, Anwaar, and many more. Zahir has also written Novels and books of short stories like Trishna, Phalgun, sonar Harin, badh, janmantar, aparadh, and many more. Zahir Raihan was born in Bangladesh on 19 August 1935. His parents are Mohammad Habibullah and Syeda Sufia Khatun, and his brother's name is Shafiullah Kaiser. Zahir had married two times his first wife is Sumita Devi and his second wife is Shuchonda.

He has two sons from his first wife named Bipul Raihan and Anol Raihan and two sons from his second wife named Opu Raihan and Topu Raihan. He completed his graduation and post-graduation in Bengali literature from the University of Dhaka. Zahir joined Jugar Alo in 1950 and started working as a journalist. He also worked for a newspaper like Jantrik, Kapchara, and cinema. His first collection of short stories was named Surya Grahan and was published in 1955. Zahir started his journey toward the film industry by working as an assistant director in an Urdu film named Jago Hua Savera. Zahir was a supporter of the Bengali language movement and also took part in a Mass uprising in East Pakistan.
