and is known for his realistic acting. Other than Tapan Sinha directed 'Sobuj Dwiper Raja (1979) and 'Banchharamer Bagan' (1980), Roy Chowdhury acted in 'Abar Aranye' (2003) directed by Goutam Ghose.
Roy was also known as a theater actor and a well-known face in 'jatra' - folk theater of West Bengal. The actor played a small role in movies like Abar Aranye, Kharij, and Shet Patharer Thala was a standard in commercial films and did movies like Badnaam, Sangee, Sudhu Ekbar Bolo, Chaowa Pawa, Dadu No. 1, among others.
He has appeared in a film called Her story, this movie was born due to death. The movie substantiates itself that cancer isn't only an illness of the living, it is available in our contemplations, our activities, our general public. Given a genuine story of ongoing occasions, this is a film of adoration, enthusiasm, and war. The actor was plagued with cancer and kidney disease; he died on 18 March 2019.
