Master Tapu was a child artist working in the Bengali film industry. He is also known by the name Master Subhadip. During the late 80s and early 90s, many child artists in the Bengali industry were in top form, and one of those most-wanted child artists was Master Tapu. He shared the screen space with almost all the leading stars in Tollywood in those times. Tapu completed his film studies at Jadavpur University.
His father, Nripan Dey, was a film producer. When he went to see a shooting with his father, Bengali director Anjan Chowdary, who was gearing up to direct Shatru, saw him. Impressed by his looks, Anjan committed Tapu in Shatru. In 1984, he played in Shatru with
