Jahar Ganguly was an Indian actor. He was born in October 1906 in the 24th undivided Parganas district in British India. Ganguly was a part of numerous films in the Bengali as well as Bollywood industry from the 1940s to the 1950s. He mostly portrayed comic roles or as a supporting actor to the protagonist.
In addition to being an actor, he was also a theatre personality. According to data, Ganguly debuted in the 1931 film Geeta. He has also acted in Bekar Nashan (1938), Jakher Dhan (1939), Garmil (1942), Dui Purush (1945), Tulsidas (1954), Mantra Shakti (1954), Saat Number Kayedi (1953), Khokababur Pratyabartan (1960), Chiriyakhana (1967), etc. He breathed his last breath in 1969.
