Ayananshu Banerjee, an actor and director, was born on 23rd October in Kolkata. He completed his graduation in electronics from IIT Kharagpur and then went to America for further studies. After completing MS and MBA, and working in America for seven years, he returned to India to work as a consultant in Calcutta. After many years of returning to the country, in 2012 he realized his passion for films and started making films in his mother tongue Bengali. His first short film, which was his own life story, was ‘Caterpillar has wings’ which was released in 2013.

He worked as a director, producer, scriptwriter, lyricist and clerk for his first movie. Later, he also directed a Bengali film named ‘Bodhon – The Voyage Within’ which was released in 2015. The film won five International awards and was selected in the ‘Indian Panorama 2014’ film festival by the Film Directorate of India. He won the Best Director award at the Bioscope Global Film Festival for the film, whereas Team 'Bodhan' won the Best Picture and Best Actress awards at the North Carolina Global Film Festival.
