Aly Zaker was a Bangladeshi actor, director, writer, photographer, and businessman. He was born in Village Ratanpur of Nabinagar Upazila, Brahmanbaria district, Bengal Presidency, British India. His father was Muhammad Taher, who was a district magistrate. His mother was Rezia Taher. Aly Zaker completed his schooling at St. Gregory’s School. He studied sociology at the University of Dhaka in 1965. Iresh worked as executiveproducer and Sriya worked as Brand Commercial Manager in Asiatic Marketing Communications. His wife Sara worked as a deputy manager of the company. Aly spent his childhood in various districts of East Pakistan, and then he moved to Khulna. Afterward he moved to Dhaka with his family. He started his career in advertising in 1967 and worked with WS Crawfords Limited in Karachi.

In 1968, he joined East Asiatic Advertising Limited in East Pakistan. Aly was the owner of Asiatic Marketing Communications Limited ( Asiatic 3 Sixty). It is an advertising agency in Bangladesh. This company includes media agency, Talking Point, Asiatic Mindshare, Dhoni Chitra Limited, 20 Miles, Moitree Printers Limited, Asiatic Events Limited, and MRC – Mode Limited. Aly was attached to his motherland so much. That’s why he was a freedom fighter in the Bangladesh Liberation War, which took place in 1971. He was a trustee of the Liberation War Museum, Dhaka. Aly worked in theatre for his acting career for about one year. He was the founder of Nagarik Theatre Group. He had worked with his wife in various theatres. His one play was on the life of Galileo, which was released in 2018.

Aly received the Ekushey Award from Bangladesh Government in 1999.

It was an outstanding achievement in his life because it is the 2 nd highest Civilian award in Bangladesh. He has received several awards, including Selim Al-Deen Padak (2017), Shaheed Altaf Mahmud Padak (2017), and Meril Prothom Alo Awards (2018). Aly Zaker died on November 27, 2020, in United Hospital at Dhaka, Bangladesh. He died of Cancer.
