Sara Zaker is a Bangladeshi actor, director, entrepreneur, and social activist. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature at the University of Dhaka and completed her Master’s program there. She was trained in acting at the British Theatre Institute in 1981. Sara began her career at Nagorik Natya Sampraday theatre troupe and had her first production with the troupe titled Baki Itihash in 1973.
She also performed in the following dramas: Bidogdho Romonikul, Nishiddho Polli, Shot Manusher Khoje (1976), Dewan Gazi'r Kissa and "Naam-Gotroheen: Manto'r Meyera" (2014 Copeniker Captain (1980), Nuruldiner Shara Jibon (1981), Macbeth, Kobor Diye Dao, Irsha, Kathal Bagan, and Naam Gotrohin – Manto'r Meyera (2014).
Two of the most significant stage performances Sara directed were Ariel Dorfman’s Death and the Maiden and Anton Chekov’s The Sea Gull. Sara began her business career in 1995 in the field of Market research. She worked as project head for Nayantara Communications in 2004 and became the managing director of Asiatic 360 and director of Asiatic Events Marketing Limited. She later went on to become the managing director of Ddhoni Chitra Limited.
The only Television drama she directed was Ayomoy and one film titled Nodir Naam Modhumoti (1996). She has been awarded with the following for her incredible involvement in the theatre, Sequence Award for Acting (1975), Anannya Shirsho Dosh (1995), Bishishtho Nattojon – Loko Natto Goshthi (2014), Inspiring Change, Srijan Shamman Award, Badruddin Hossain Memorial Award (2016), Ekushey Padak (2017).
