Guntur Talkies managed to create quite a buzz due to its intriguing concept and the stills. Now let’s see what the film has in store for us.

Siddhu  Jonnalagadda and Naresh are employed in a medical shop as at a small town in Guntur as salesmen. They are only paid less and hence they work even in the nights to earn extra bucks. Naresh steals in such a way that the affected people don’t tell to the cops; he robs only small items. It so happens that Naresh robs a huge sum of 5 lakhs even without his understanding. The two escape to Goa and cops and mafia alike target them. There is also the story of Siddhu’s craving for his neighbor’s sibling Rashmi.Watch the movie to know the rest of the film.

Star Performances

Siddhu and Naresh pull off their roles effortlessly, and their performance is raw. Siddhu’s decent attempt at the second half is a revelation while Naresh has tried to work wonders with the comedy.  The dressing of Rashmi is provocative, and she gives sexy expressions. There is a song in which she has been very bold. Having said that, she has nothing much to perform.
Shraddha Das is bold enough to essay the character of a sex addict along with shades of rowdyism in it. And she acts with conviction. Raja Ravinder does his role of a cop with utter conviction. Mahesh Manjrekar, as a mafia head, is a good choice for his role. However, his language is offensive. Fish Venkat looks comical in a baddie’s role.

One wonders why the makers have concentrated mainly on obscene dialogues. The director Praveen Sattaru, who has worked on some good movies including the National award winning Chandamama Kathalu, seem to have focused on an adult crime comedy this time since his award-winning movie didn’t work wonders at the box office. He has touched on a novel premise, but the way in which it is treated is not convincing. Also, most of the scenes in the movie revolve around Siddhu’s and Rashmi Gautam’s lustful acts. Also few words are censored but still we can make out what the villains express in the movie.

What’s there?

  • The scenes in which Siddhu, Naresh, and Mahesh  Manjrekar have come out well.
  • Sri Charan’s music and BGM are quite good.
  • Ram Reddy’s cinematography is excellent.

What’s not there?

  • The dialogues of Guntur Talkies are quite cheap.
  • There is a lot of obscenity in the movie.
  • The comedy will not go well with all sets of audience.

The movie has some convincing performances and some skin show by Rashmi Gautam and Shraddha Das. Guntur Talkies is loyal to the A certificate that is given to it.
