Plot
The movie Prasanna Vadanam revolves around the life of Surya, a radio jockey suffering from prosopagnosia, or face blindness caused by an accident in his childhood. Surya’s lover and a friend are the only two people informed about his condition. One tragic night, Surya is the only witness to a murder, and his life takes a turn downhill from then. Surya anonymously tips off the police and is soon taken into custody.
The trouble starts for him as he is unable to identify the culprit owing to his disease. So, he seeks help from ACP Vaidehi in solving this mysterious case. What he doesn’t realize is that Vaidehi might have ulterior motives of her own. The movie follows Surya’s struggle as he tries to clear off his name from this unusual happening.
Star Performances
The film Prasanna Vadanam consists of various talented artists acting as brownie points for the movie. Suhas, who plays the lead role, has done a phenomenal job at depicting a visually impaired and honest man. Also, Rashi Singh’s dedication to her role is reflected on the screens.
Analysis
Prasanna Vadanam is a promising attempt by the director, to focus on the struggles of a man with visual impairment. The concept is fresh and interesting but the execution needs improvement. It is one of those scripts that seemed better on paper than on screen. The movie falters as it can’t stick to one conflict and introduces unnecessary subplots. Also, the screenplay lacked logic and the development of the storyline wasn’t in any particular order.
The cast choice was accurate from lead roles to the side ones. Rashi Singh’s character was portrayed as morally grey, a fresh change loved by the audience. The cinematography was on point and captured the emotion behind every scene beautifully. Overall, the movie came with its set of flaws and traits that somehow balanced out.
