Karate Kalyani is a comedian actress in movies and negative roles in serials. She is a supporting artist.Karate Kalyani was born on 31^st October 1977. She is from Vijayanagaram. She has two brothers. She completed her Diploma. She completed her schooling in Kalyananda Bharathi High School and woman’s college from Vijayanagaram. Her mother tongue is Telugu. She can speak Hindi, Telugu and English. Her original name is Padaala Kalyani. She got a black belt in karate and that's why she got the name Karate Kalyani. As there were some other people in the same name, she prefixed Karate to her name. Her father’s name is Padaala Ramdas. He was an All India Radio Artist. Her mother's name is Vijaya Lakshmi. She learned karate, dance and music. She acted with all comedians in the Telugu film industry. Now she is working in serials and for serials, she is doing negative roles. Her husband's name is Kakarla Shyam. He is a songwriter. Their's is a love marriage. She is a narrator, imitator, and painter. She is teaching karate for kids at her home and in residential school.

She acted in many movies like Aadi, Godavari (Pullamma role), Krishna, Leela Mahal Centre, Shankar Dada M.B.B.S. She is also a stage singer. She acted in more than 120 movies. She acted not only in Telugu and also acted in Kannada movies. She acted in stage shows like Kalyana Vasantham and Goda and also played the lead role. Her first movie was Vechivunta in 2001 and Murthy Sriram directed it.

She got National Gold Medal in Karate at Goa, Bhuvaneswar and Chandigarh. She was awarded Taekwondo. Now she is acting in Zee Telugu serials. Kalyani’s hobbies are watching TV, singing, karate, painting, etc.
