Uravugal Thodar Kathai is a TV series getting aired in Star Vijay from Monday to Friday by 12.30 PM. The series is a dubbed version of Hindi Serial, YehRishta Kya Kehalatha Hai that's aired in Star Plus channel.

The story is about a girl Archana and her marriage life. Archana hails from a traditional and respectable family where she's adored by every member. She's a girl like any Indian girl who thinks and dreams about having love and then marriage. But for her, love is a dream. Her family looks out for a right partner who can give her a good life and be a good partner for her entire life. They find an eligible groom from their own community for her. She accepts to marry the boy selected by her family but she thinks that none of her notions for love and romance has come true as she dreamt. Her mother explains the way how love works with a couple who are true at their hearts. She also says to her daughter that the husband and wife relationship brings in the love notion and that it will get strengthened once they start understanding each other. Being moved by mother's explanation, Archana takes up the step to go through a journey for discovering her new life with all the romantic notions that she dreamt. Whether she succeeded in her wishes despite of some bitter experiences is what told in the rest of the story.

The marriage of Archana gets fixed with Naitik. Initially, Archana left a questionable impression on Naitik and his mother, but the family agreed to the marriage. Archana adjusts to her new house with her in- laws. She proved to be a good daughter-in-law. Archana becomes pregnant and gives birth to Naksh, the heir of their family. After some time, Naitik meets an accident and goes into a coma. This serial leaps for five years. Naksh has grown up and craves for his father. Naitik finally comes out of the coma. At first, Naksh hesitates around him, but they bond together. The whole family was happy again. Archana becomes pregnant and gives birth to her daughter Naira. The family celebrates the arrival of Naira. After some time, Naitik’s mother meets an accident and dies on the spot. Her husband becomes devastated and depressed. The family decides to get him remarried to Devyani. Devyani was a sweet woman and adjusted quickly to the family. She was divorced and had two children from her previous marriage. After everything was going smoothly, Naitik’s Dadaji died due to a heart attack. His wife blamed Archana for the death and banished her from the house. Naitik stands with Archana and moves out with her. The couple and their kids move to Cape Town. This serial leaps of 10 years. Naitik owns a restaurant in Cape Town. Naira and Naksh grow in Cape Town. Naksh goes back to India and clears the misunderstandings between the families. All four of them return to India and start living together. Initially, Naira struggles to adjust to the family. Gayu is the daughter of Naitik’s sister.

After her parents’ death, she lives with her maternal family. Naira feels jealous of Gayu and thinks that Gayu is stealing the attention of her parents. Naira develops hatred toward Archana and leaves the house. This serial leaps for many years. Naira lives in Rishikesh with a new identity. Gayu lives with her family. Coincidently, Archana finds her daughter and brings her back. Naira slowly clears the misunderstandings with her mother. The serial presents a love triangle between Gayu, Naira, and Kartik. Archana dies in a car accident, and everyone accuses Kartik of the accident. Naira proves Kartik’s innocence. Eventually, Naira marries Kartik. The serial then revolves around the life of Naira and how she adjusts to her new life with Kartik.
