Filmfare Awards Marathi 2014 was the first ever Filmfare award ceremony that was held on 20^th November in Thane. The aim of introducing this award ceremony was to ensure that new and talented young artists along with celebrity actors who have succeeded in making a huge impact on the audience through their acting performances get recognized throughout the state and country. This gala event is a prestigious ceremony where awards are only given to the most talented individuals who have played a huge role in the world of cinematography. The ceremony introduced several categories which were related to and were the key ingredients of the film industry.

"Dr. Prakash Baba Amte – The Real Hero” was declared as the best film. Nagraj Manjue was declared as the best director. Nana Patekar was declared as the best actor amongst the males. Sonali Kulkarni was the best actor amongst the females. Kishore Kadam was declared as the best actor in a supporting role (male) while Amrita Subhash took her spot as the best actor in a supporting role (female). The best music director award was won by Ajay Atul while the best lyrics was won by Guru Thakur. They both won because of their performance in Lai Bhaari alongside Ajay Gogavale who was declared as the best playback singer.

The Critics' Award for best male actor was won by Mohan Agashe for his performance in “Astu" while the Critics' Award for best female actor was won by Usha Naik Usha Naik is a senior actress in the Marathi Cinem >> Read More... for her performance in “Ek Hazarachi Note”. The best films according to the critics’ were “Elizabeth Ekadashi” and “Postcard”. "Elizabeth Ekadashi” might have been nominated in 12 categories but it was “Lai Bhaari” who stole the event by winning five awards.
