With the beginning of 2020 there comes the Filmfare Awards Marathi 2020. The prestigious award ceremony was held at the St. Andrew’s Auditorium on the 28^th of February 2020. The biggest event for the Marathi film industry didn’t disappoint the celebrity guests or the audience as it captivated everyone with its glamour and a night filled with recognition of true talent and achievements in the world of cinematography. Portraying the journey of Anandibai Joshi who became the country's first female doctor in a time when education for women was considered to be taboo, the film "Anandi Gopal” secured its position as the ‘Best Film’ alongside Sameer Vidwans who was declared as the ‘Best Director’.

Deepak Dobriyal and Mukta Barve were declared as the winners of ‘Best Actor in Leading Role’ while Shashank Shende and Neena Kulkarni were selected as the best actors in supporting roles. The winner for the best music album was Saurabh Bhalerao alongside Hrishikesh Datar and Jasraj Joshi for the film ‘Anandi Gopal'. The album used semi-classical tunes along with folk music to make the perfect album for the period drama film.
