Nammane Gombe is a cultural show that gives us insight into the culture of Mysuru, Karnataka, during the festival of Dussehra. It premiered on Star Suvarna on 6th October 2019. Mysuru is famous for its unique doll-making arts i.e., called Dussehra dolls or Bombay mane. Every Dussehra, there is pomp and show to celebrate the victory of Goddess Durga against the demons. This festival in Mysuru has been celebrated since the time of the Vijayanagara Empire. The display of dolls called Golu is represented in every household of Mysuru. These dolls represent the Kannada culture and its people.
Every individual or family chooses a theme and mixes different deities to ensemble the toys. They select various mythologies to display Bombay Mane. The show features three actresses Rakshita, Meera, and Muddulakshmi, who visit various localities in Mysuru and learn about the family heirloom depicting Dussehra Dolls. Grand celebrations and arrangements during the time of Dusshera in Mysuru were also shown. Different famous places of Mysuru were explored by the actresses. At last, Saraswathi visits Vidhyamma in Bangalore.
