Mandaara is a family drama on Udaya TV. Udaya TV is a regional Kannada language channel on Indian cable TV. It is the first-ever general Kannada language channel to be broadcasted on TV. The Chennai-based Sun network conglomerate owns and manages Udaya TV and its segments. The serial, Mandaara, was produced by Vision Time India Pvt Ltd. Its plot narrates the story of an average family. The family comprises the parents and their three daughters. The story focuses on the family members, their struggle and happiness. This is the drama that has the old-school serial charm and is based entirely on the tribulations a woman has to go through in life. The storytelling is plain yet relatable characters successfully keep the plot alive.
