produced the serial under the banner of Balaji Telefilms Limited. Ekta Kapoor did the concept and story. Rajan Anant scored the title track while Nanditha contributed her voice to the theme song. Kannadi narrates the story of Kusuma, an ambitious middle-class woman. Kusuma believes that marriage isn’t the sole purpose of a woman’s existence. But, as fate has it, she is married off early and has to settle down with a new family. Initially, the sudden attention she receives with love and a new life overshadows her original free-spirited ambitions. However, with time, she realises the importance of financial independence, and she therefore struggles and goes through hardships to emerge victorious as an entrepreneur. Kannadi is an inspiration to women who are so involved in living a married life that they forget the need to value themselves as individuals.Â
