The show themes the world after the zombie apocalypse has taken place. Walkers which are referring to zombies, awkwardly, roam around the world to eat all the living humans and other creatures left. When they bite or scratch beings, they slowly convert into a walker themselves. Also, if they die of any other cause, will also transform into the walkers due to the pathogen they are carrying. Walkers die either by destroying either their brain or their body. The survivors after feeling for several months, make a new home in a prison with the greater risk from the two saved convicts.

To save the Loris’s baby, Maggie Greene does a fatal caesarean section on her. In the same time, Merle Dixon discovers Andrea and her saviour Michonne and takes them to the town of Woodbury led by a man The Governor. Michonne meets Rick’s group in prison and helps them in a rescue mission which follows to Glenn and Maggie’s capture. Michonne disfigured The Governor and he then declare the prison group as terrorists and Merle as a traitor. Dixon, reunited with his brother, abandoned the team and decided his place in the cage.

Rick to gather arms and ammunition, returns to his town and reconsiders his morality when met an unhinged Morgan. Andrea, The Governor’s lover convinces him to negotiate a truce with Rick, but The Governor secretly decides to attack which Marie prevents giving up his life. The Governor captures the fled Andrea and locks her up in a room with a walker. He then declares a full - scale war on an appearing abandoned prison, but Rick ambushes them. The Governor massacres his people on their refusal to fight. The Governor escapes and Rick’s group to save the survivors returns to Woodbury but are not able to protect Andrea.
