Kache Aye Shoi is a moving story that explores the depths of hardship and determination throughout Shoi's life. She is a young woman. The story starts with showing Shoi’s parents living and working in the harsh environment of the coal mines in West Bengal. The coal mines have a cruel environment, but the people managing the mines are more cruel. Shoi’s father discovers illegal activities going on in the mines. When the managers get to know this, they fear that he might expose them. Shoi’s father gets caught up in work politics. He is unable to save himself from it. He gets murdered for this. This unfortunate event happens on the same day when Shoi is born. Her mother died during childbirth, and there was no assistance from doctors available.

Shoi grows up as an orphan. She was raised in the same coal mines that killed her parents. Shoi is branded as an unlucky and unholy child as her birth killed her parents. She has to counter disapproval and discrimination throughout her brutal upbringing. She dares to dream of a better life. Shoi displays a remarkable strength of character and an unwavering determination to carve out a better life for herself despite the odds stacked against her.

Shoi defies the expectations and conventions of society as she sets out on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment with pure willpower and determination. She takes up the job of a sweeper in a middle school as her first job outside the coal mines. She puts a lot of effort into her job. Meanwhile, she takes advantage of every chance she gets in that school to learn and study. She does not let her circumstances define her future. Shoi becomes a ray of hope and motivation for her community. She is driven by her aspirations for a contented family in the future and an improved life for her community.  She is determined to improve the lives of coal miners and make sure that no other daughter experiences the same fate as she did, so she sets out to challenge the present situation with utmost determination.
