Sri Devi is sometimes mean to her mother, but she patiently lets her daughter vent out. Sri Devi attains menarche, and the women in the locality bring her gifts. At such a young age, Sri Devi secretly talks to a guy on the phone. Whenever her mother asks her about who she’s talking with, she lies, saying that it is one of her friends talking about school. Her mother believes her innocently. The mother takes money as a loan from a loan shark who keeps pestering her to return it. She is also trying to find another job to make ends meet, but her teenage daughter keeps making it hard for her. Being a single mother of a girl child, her problems only increase. Later in the serial, all the problems faced by these women both because of their loved ones and the society are shown.
