Plot
The story’s plot revolves around few gangsters like Najunda, Vamsi and Maaran. They exert control over different parts of Chennai. They used unfair means to take control. For instance, Nanjunda controlled South Chennai. He also killed many men including the local councilor. With the help of his gang member he disposed the dead bodies. To gain fortune, Vamsi killed the owner of a Jewellery shop along with the owner’s wife. Marran used to smuggle harbored goods. He also used women to control officers there. Maaran killed few officers who were dangerous for him.
To gain control on the gang, Nanjunda’s goons unknowingly kidnaped Vamsi’s girlfriend, Sithara. Nanjunda raped her. They captured a former gangster named Right. However, he turns out to be a strong man who beats all of them. About 17 years ago he killed a man. Right currently runs a real estate’s business with Malik, his boss. Malik Bhai got arrested in a countercase. Right found that Maaran’s right hand, Meiyappan, is behind this. He threatened him, but Meiyappan planned Right’s murder. However, Right escaped from there. Right get Malik released from prison. Meanwhile, Sithara falls in love with Right.
Nanjunda plans to kill Right and stab him 17 times. Right was on the ventilator. Soon, he healed with Sithara’s support. Towards the end, Maaran and Vamsi get killed. Nanjunda captured Malik Bhai. However, Right captured them and beheaded Nanjunda.
Star performance
The main character of the story is Right. Sundar C played Right’s role. He presented Right perfectly as a former gangster and a perfect central character. He gave a nuanced performance by balancing Right’s emotions. Another important character is Sithara. Palak Lalwani plays her character. In the film, Palak played the character of protagonist. Palak delivered a fantastic performance in the movie. Her presence made the storyline more interesting. The remaining main cast of the film are Thambi Ramaiah as Malik Bhai, Prabhakar as Nanjunda, and Aayira as Parveen. The supporting cast has delivered a nuanced performance.
Analysis
The movie, Thalainagaram 2 on translating means capital city. This film is purely thriller and crime-based. There is a lack of emotional scenes. People with weak hearts might find it disturbing as there is too much violence in the movie. As the movie is an average budget film but even then its story and execution is pretty impressive. The movie’s execution is top-notch. The main and the supporting actors delivered fantastic performances. Moreover, the chemistry between the actors was amazing. The film’s cinematography is also well-structured and well formed. Furthermore the song used in the film is pretty interesting. The pace of the movie is just perfect. The soundtrack match with the show’s tone.
