Plot: Sonna Pocchu is a thriller movie with the new faces along with Mano Bala and Aarthy. The story starts with the Media office in Chennai and travels through the forest.
Thogai Malai is a village, which is in the hilly area. At the top of the hill, there is a Kaali temple and the people at the village perform Pooja for the goddess every year. The statue of the goddess Kaali at the hill top rotates every year and the people think that the goddess is angry. To make her cool and bring her back to the normal position, they organize a special offering to Kaali through the unmarried girls. This formality is followed compulsorily by them every year. On hearing this, a team of Media people travels to Thogai Malai. But the village guard does not allow them to enter the village. They find out a new path to the village and move forward to the village. When they were nearing the village, they see a stone inscription. They cannot understand the letters in the inscription and they take it to an archaeologist.
The archaeologist finds out what is written in the stone inscription and he hides the truth from the Media people. Actually, the inscription says that there is some secret about the treasure in the village. The archaeologist plans to use the treasure for his village. At that time, there happened a murder in the village. Who is the murderer? Whether the murder is done by the human or the spiritual power and who gets the treasure is the remaining part of the story.
Cinematography by Manoj Narayan is very lively and he makes the viewers to travel along with him to the forest. Sai Ram is the director of the movie. He has selected a better story, but the scenes in the forest should have been made interesting; they are moving very slowly. Music is not up to the mark.
The climax of the story is good. There is nothing wrong in using the Olden treasures for the welfare of the country is the message told by the director. As there are new faces, people show less interest. Aarthy and Mano Bala are used as pickles in this film, as they come occasionally. This movie can be watched once.
